I was commissioned to take a portrait of Diane Houk, whowas a trial attorney in the Housing Section of the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. After that she co-founded the Fair Housing Justice Center in New York City, and serves as a lecturer on fair housing at Columbia Law School. In late 2009, she joined the New York law practice of Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady, where she litigates civil rights cases.
